Did you know that you can freeze bubbles? These temperatures are perfect for using that left over bubble mix from the summer. Go outside on any day when it’s below 32 degrees F and try this: blow a bubble and then catch it on the bubble wand.  Wait a few moments while it freezes- it will turn into a cool crystal ball before it shatters!

You can also make icy crystals with your bubble solution! To do this: dip a large loop in the bubble solution – but dont blow a bubble. Instead, watch the crystals grow. The will form a lattice structure!

Too cold to go outside? You can learn how to make your own crystal ball bubbles in the freezer with soap by checking out the site below…

World Skyrim Book Day 1st February 2012

Fin Dii Keizaal (rough translation of The Day Of Skyrim)

Now we are all having a wonderful time hacking, burning, freezing, shouting and stabbing out way through Skyrim, picking up books, if we’re honest, mainly if they are worth a few Septim’s, contain a question or a skill increase, but we rarely actually read them, unless they are a part of a quest.

For me it was the same in Morrowind and in Oblivion my Dark Brotherhood sanctuary was piled high with tomes, and now all my shelves in Breezehome are full and my bedside tables will no longer shut, but I never got round to having a proper read, not even Beggar Prince or The Thief Of Virtue, which are practically everywhere, and I feel guilty and ashamed.

I thought that it would be a nice idea to have a World Skyrim Book Day on February 1st 2012, which is exactly a month before world book day. On this day we could all lay down our sword, staffs and hammers and cosy up with a companion, husband/ wife or housecarl and actually turn some virtual pages and read some of these tales that people have woven into the fabric of the game give them the attention they deserve.

Imperials, Stormcloaks, Elves, Argononian, Nords, Redguards, assassins, thieves, companions, vampires, werewolves, even dragons all together reading and enriching their lives and the depths of the game. It could be beautiful.

These wonderful people here:
capane.us/2011/11/24/dovahkiin-gutenberg/
Have digitalised all the books from the game to work on any e-reader or computer, as a free download (as far as I am aware), so there is no excuse.

It would great to see people posting reviews and making recommendations for reading, skills and quests, as well as taking photos of cosplay and even writing your own story set in the world of Tamriel.

Please re-blog this and put the date in your diary
1st February 2012 World Skyrim Book Day
1st March 2012 World Book Day

And let’s see if we can have ourselves another fun, geeky day :-)

Skyrim is nearly upon us, in the UK - in about 3 and a half hours infact.

I have no idea if there will be any major release bugs initially, but let’s just take side-tracked a moment to reflect on the Oblivion launch around 5 years ago.

Does anyone remember the item duplication bug? No?

Well it went something like: If you drop a watermelon and shoot it with an arrow, it bursts into a million watermelons simultaneously.

Skyrim, I’m ready for your bugs. I will don my beard and laugh heartily about them over a tankard of ale, for you will be EPIC.
